We are back in Romania

In two days we will be back in Romania with our new project entitled: 'Method And A Device For Persuading The Office Workers To Take Periodic Breaks At Workplace'. The project will be exhibited on 19 – 21 March during an International Exhibition of Research, Innovation and Inventiveness “PRO INVENT-2014” at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca. Keep your fingers crossed!

Goodbye Holidays Avatar Show

Our team supported the charity picnic 'Goodbye Golden Holidays ' for orphants giving the robot show and workshops for 200 children from 16 orphanages from our voivodship. Picnic was organized by charity foundation ‘Fundacja Pomagam’ - the main organizer of the summer holidays - in the Campoverde site in Lodz, 23 September 2013. Our team members, MSc students Tomasz Kosinski and Marcin Galus presented personal avatars - robots specially adapted for one of our recent persuasive projects. Children especially enjoyed tangible contact with robots and possibility to control them on their own. More info is available at the foundation website.

iNOTICE'13 Conference

Fourth International iNOTICE 2013 Conference was held on 5 June at Słok near Bełchatów. The main track this year was Human-Centred Applications, Theory and Educational Aspects. Excellent keynote speech was given by Francho Melendez on 3D image reconstruction from still photography. Congratulations goes to Martyna Borkowska for wining audience-voted best presentation competition for the paper entitled 'Cross-platform context-aware application for edutainment mechanisms'.

Vertoid at TAMoCo in Kraków

First results on persuasive influence on the pro-environmental users' behaviour change by the Vertoid application were presented as a paper at the TAMoCo'13 Conference - an event at Federated Conference on Computer Science and Information Systems FedCSIS in Kraków. Vivid and intersting discussion arose after our paper presentation and a presentation of a paper exploring mobile augmentation for Panic disorder treatment presented by Stefan Kleine Stegemann Leuphana Universität Lüneburg.

Persuasive technologies for savoir-vivre

Ubicomp group presented perspectives and our vision for persuasive computing in service for human behaviour modelling. Lecture entitled 'Tomato vs. Courtesy’ was very well-received during the show at XIII Festival of Science, Technology and Arts in Lodz. More info about the festival is here.
